SOA Consortium Launches “SOA Consortium Insights” Blog
New Blog will promote value and attainment of Business-Driven SOA

Needham, MA, USA – June 20, 2007 – The SOA Consortium™ today announced the launch of the SOA Consortium Insights blog. This blog, written by SOA Consortium members and leaders, will promote the SOA Consortium’s core messages around the value and attainment of business-driven SOA. In addition, the blog will highlight our working groups’ activities and by-products, industry event participation, and SOA Consortium hosted events. The SOA Consortium Insights blog is available at http://blogs.soa-consortium.org.

The SOA Consortium Insights blog is another avenue for building awareness and community as outlined in two of the three top priority strategies of the SOA Consortium. The Promoting Business-Driven SOA – “Executive Suite SOA” strategy is focused on building awareness amongst C-level executives on the costs, benefits, challenges and success factors of moving to a Service-Oriented Architecture.

The Executing Business-Driven SOA - “Ground Floor SOA” strategy is focused on building a vibrant practitioner community of architects and senior development and delivery managers who need to understand how to sell, transition to, develop, exploit and support a SOA in practice.

The SOA Consortium is an advocacy group of end users, service providers and technology vendors committed to helping the Global 1000 successfully adopt Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) by 2010. Founding sponsors are BEA Systems, Inc., Cisco, IBM Corporation, and SAP AG.

The SOA Consortium mission, strategies and tactics center on the following premises:

  • Service-oriented architecture adoption is a key enabler for the 21st century enterprise

  • Achieving the benefits of service-oriented architecture requires significant changes for both IT and business executives

  • Service-oriented architecture is a business agility story, not just an IT integration story

  • Enterprise SOA practitioners would greatly benefit from a vibrant practitioner community to drive local, business-driven, SOA success, and to spur broader enterprise, and industry-wide, SOA adoption.

The SOA Consortium is holding its inaugural European meeting June 27-28 at the Crowne Plaza Brussels City Centre in Brussels, Belgium. Organizations interested in joining the SOA Consortium and attending the meeting should visit the website, http://www.soa-consortium.org or email info@soa-consortium.org for more information.
